The bendy vase is finally completed. Its a stunning jewel of a painting to brighten up any wall. I adore colour and this is a joy to behold- so much to contemplate. I do like "bendy" images, bending the truth a little to add a bit of whimsy.

Inspired by a photograph I took while visiting Monet’s Garden at Giverny, Nectar celebrates the intense colour and extraordinary detail we can miss when we only glance at a flower.

Cropped closely for impact, the painting becomes almost abstract—full of movement, colour and life. Its long, narrow format makes it perfect for those tricky spaces between windows, beside an entrance or on a wall pillar, and it can also be hung horizontally for a completely different effect.

I love painting tones, enjoy the microscopic view of flowers, images we take for granted. This was an absolute joy to paint and fulfilled my need for pink, for a while. Georgia O'Keefe, a fabulous American artist ,was the inspiration for my entry into this painting style.

A chance photograph of my sister's birthday bouquet in a restaurant, was the inspiration to paint this beautiful study of Australian wild flowers. It is a "wow" painting in a room, a bit like one colourful ,stunning piece of jewellery against a simple black dress.
I adore colour and set out to hypercolour the image, to its maximum. It became a labour of love with the detail.
